Over the past year I have spent a lot of time focusing on my business and trying to figure out where I would like to go with it, there will be more on that in another post, and one of the things I have come to realize over this past year is that one of the things that inspires me most is seeing other successful women in business. I am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to start my own business and that it allowed me to meet so many other strong, smart and innovative women. I truly believe that to some extent that who you are is determined by who you surround yourself with. I have had several "ah-ha" moments over this past year because of these amazing women. I will share one story here.

So I joined this local networking group and our leader kept "making" us all participate in this 30 second introduction. I hateeeee stuff like this!!! I would get super nervous and clam right up. I am fine in one on one situations but speaking in front of a group just makes my anxiety go into over drive. Anyways, when I would give my spiel I would always say something like 'Hi, I am MJ, I specialize in blah blah blah...". BORING!!!!!!!! The leader continued to challenge us and shared with us a commercial (it was an air bnb commercial about how you are always welcome), the commercial really spoke to the emotional aspects. That was when I had my "aha" moment. It really made me think about why I love photography, what I want to offer my clients and how I express that to YOU. I want my clients to feel "at home", I want them to feel beautiful, and I want them to feel like the process was "easy".
