HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR NEWBORN SESSION?

Plan to be at the session for 2-4 hours. Prepare your partner. I usually start with family, sibling(s) and parent shots so that dad/siblings can leave if they choose.

Please wake baby 1-2 hrs prior to the session and keep them awake if possible. Feed and undress baby down to the diaper before leaving for your session.

Bring extra diapers and formula. Baby may eat more then normal and will certainly poop and pee more often. There is a good chance that baby will poop, pee and/or spit up during the session. Please do not feel bad if this happens, it is totally normal and expected.

Bring a pacifier, this will help with transitioning the baby in between poses.

The studio will be warm so please bring comfy clothes to wear once the family shots are finished.

I will have some snacks & drinks available but you may want to bring some along as well.

I have plenty of outfits, wraps, hats and hair bows, you do not need to bring anything but you are certainly welcome to bring along any anything that you would like to include.

Please make sure nails are well manicured prior to the session and that you remove any old polish that is peeling. Also, watches can be distracting in photos so you may want to remove them. Don’t forget to remove hair ties from your wrist! :)

If dad is comfortable going shirtless for the one on one shots, those will look the best. If not, then a fitted white or black t-shirt with jeans. Strapless tops in neutral colors is what I recommend for mom.

Stick to neutral colors for siblings as well.

Safety is my #1 priority. Please try to relax during your session. Baby can sense it when you are nervous.

This is your time to sit back and relax! If I need your help I will let you know.
